Message I had 2 soundstream amps powering my system. Sound is almost comparable to my 4 X 100 watt PPI. SOundstream is underrated like the the PPI and such.
Don't know how low budget you are trying to achieve, but another GOOD amp would be the new JL Audio amps. I have a monoblock 500 watt pushing two JL audio subs and they pound hard and ACCURATE. Check out [ www.1caraudio.com ] for that. 330 bucks i think, but you could get the 4 channel to push your system and you would basically have about the best you can buy. Another tt.net member has the 4 channel and the monoblock JL Audio in his car and the sound is absolutly amazing. I do give respect to these amps, plus they were designed by the same guys who made PPI and Xtant.
Another thing, don't get fooled by cheap amps. By that i mean not only look at the RMS, not the peak, but also look at what voltage they measure that wattage at. A lot of companies measure their power at 14 volts, which is pretty much near impossible to acheive, so look at what the poewr is at 11-12.5 Volt range (what your car will really run at). if they don;t give that figure, they pretty much know the amp can't really perform in that voltage range.
Kenwood exelon amps drop from 600 watts at 14 Volts to 400 watts at 12.4 Volts. Thats a loss of 33% power from the "specs" and the exelons are fairly respectable amps.

Hope the info helps.
